It works: accuracy measured against a hand-labelled set, not a demo.
How we work
We turn research into ventures. Probity has two layers. Labs explores, and Ventures builds what survives.
Labs: from “what if” to “it turns out”
Exploration (two to four weeks): a specific, falsifiable question about a problem people already have; five to eight conversations with the people who have it; the killer questions written before anything is built.
Proto (six to ten weeks): a working prototype judged against one gate (does it work, will someone pay, can we reach the next customer). One morph allowed; then it is closed, with a write-up.
What if
Labs explores a specific question in weeks, not quarters
It turns out
A prototype earns its place against one gate: it works, someone pays, we can reach the next customer
It pays
Survivors become ventures with their own owner and P&L.
Ventures: from “it turns out” to “it pays”
A venture has a named owner and its own P&L from day one, keeps its own product name, and becomes its own company when it takes outside capital.
The gate
Someone pays: a paid design partner, or a set number of paying users.
We can reach them: a repeatable channel, not a lucky introduction.
What we say no to
- AI as a feature rather than as the worker.
- Products that ask people to learn a new tool.
- Anything that acts on money or health without a check.
- Ideas whose only reason to exist is “it uses AI”.
For institutions
Design partnerships
We take on a small number of design partners each year. You bring a routine burden and the people who carry it; we build against a measurable gate and show the working at every step; you get a system that runs real work, and the first say on where it goes next.
